Sometimes you read a book and you feel like it was meant for you. This is when you tell yourself, “The author wrote this book for me!” I love when you pick up the perfect book at the perfect time and it feels like a life-changer. I absolutely love Tuesdays with Morrie. I think it is a must read for everyone. Not only do I love this book but so do others. While reading this book on a plane, the flight attendant walking by stopped and said, “isn’t that book the best.” Then while waiting in the airport for my flight back to NY, I saw another passenger deeply enthralled in the book. I couldn’t help but smile for my fellow passenger because I knew he was in the middle of a great experience.
“Accept who you are; and revel in it.”
“The problem, Mitch, is that we don’t believe we are as much alike as we are. Whites and blacks, Catholics and Protestants, men and women. If we saw each other as more alike, we might be very eager to join in one big human family in this world, and to care about that family the way we care about our own.
But believe me, when you are dying, you see it is true. We all have the same beginning – birth – and we all have the same end – death. So how different can we be?
Invest in the human family. Invest in people. Build a little community of those you love and who love you.”
“Don’t let go too soon, but don’t hang on too long.”
“People are only mean when they are threatened.”
“Love wins, love always wins.”
